Hey im 14 years old and about 5 feet tall. I weigh about 95 pounds. My stomach kinda sticks out even if i "pull it in" during ballet practice. I was wondering how i could lose the extra pounds without starving myself. And like many dancers i have a small sweet tooth.

Do. Not. Diet. You're young and still growing and, frankly, your weight is just fine. You're also becoming a woman, so your body is going to get more curves. Just focus on eating healthy foods. Don't deprive yourself of the occasional treat. A lot of your empty calories are probably going to come from your beverages, so stick to plain water as much as possible. But you DO NOT need to drop any extra pounds.

Pilates works like a charm. Make sure you eat in small portions (healthy foods) every 2-3 hours. Focus on your core while at barre. Make sure your belly button touches your spine. It helps with your abs and can get rid of that annoying belly bulge. For that sweet tooth of yours...limit yourself to one sweet a week. A chocolate bar on a Sunday night will do. I lost a lot of weight by not eating chocolate or drinking soda. There are many ways to lose weight. You just have to find one that is right for you.
You know we all have that stomach thing when we look at it critically. If you have any troubles moving in your routines, different story, ill tell you your weight sounds fine. If anything try a cleanse from a health food store you may lose a few pounds and youll feel great at the end of it.
Sincerely I would tell you not to diet too much. Better focuse on your routine exercise.
But what I can tell you is that some people just exercise wrong, especially women, they practise the wrong exercise so if they arrive having big arms or big belly due to those masculine exercise who's falt it is, the trainer is to blame.
Ask a good teacher what exercise would be good for a girl, to stretch and dance, and if you don't find any good trainer to tell you, then go to the rhytmic gymnastic girls, and ask one of them how she trains, or what she eats. DO NOT CONFOUND sportive gymnastic with rhytmic gymnastics, the rhytmic gymnastics is those girls who have objects to play with during exercise. I always noticed that they have long legs and slim body and it couldn't be so different from balley. Hope I helped you.
Wikipedia: Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport in which single competitors or groups of two or more manipulate five types of apparatus: Ball, Clubs, Hoop, Ribbon, and Rope. It combines elements of ballet, gymnastics, theatrical dance, and apparatus manipulation. The victor is the participant who earns the most points, as awarded by a panel of judges, for leaps, balances, pivots, flexibility, apparatus handling, and artistic effect.
ur exactly lik me. im 14 , 5ft and weigh around the same nd tuck ma tummy in ballet aswell, but now im coming 2 terms wit it cause i reli want to b a pro, the fact is as soon as you stop eating the food which is un-healthy and change it for summin more healthy the less you crave it, i used to eat like buttered toast, billions of crisps, used to go to the sweet shop afta skl everydai, cantten food, and lots of choc .
now i have porridge or cereal in the mornin, 1 packet of crisps, avoid the sweet shop, have a packed lunch, and summin spercific like apple nd bannana after skl. its made such a difference.
rli its not the food but rather the portion size, bein able to recognise wen ur full, than just giving urself way 2 much nd eating un-neccissary amounts. it can all depend on ur body type, so dnt try fasting or copying celeb diets, cause they lack the nutrition a dancer needs.
its all about being HoNeSt 2 urself, uve reli got to believe ur gna go for it rather than givin it up afta a week, keepin motivated , and start wit lil changes and build-up, also try finking where am i gna b in a few months time or next week? like am i gna have already givin-up or am i making a difference??, hope dis helped cause really ull feel soooooooooo much btr wen u overcum ur sweet tooth in the end! Gd luck!!! xxxxx
oh yeah nd try avoidin fizzy drinks and remeber its fine 2 have the occasional treat, its onli human to.
Quite honestly, your weight is fine for your height., so you don't need to worry about losing weight. Generally speaking, females are supposed to weigh 100 pounds if thery are five feet tall. In addition, I your BMI is 18.6, and 18.5 is considered underweight and unhealthy, so you clearly do not need to lose weight. If you're still concerned, eat more fruits, veggies and whole grains, don't drink pop, and eat fewer sweets. You could also try working out with light weights and power walking for ways to gain a bit of muscle. Seriously though, don't worry about it; you're absolutely fine the way you are!
95 lbs isn't that bad. wait....ur kinda short. i would suggest like ya know anorexia....jk.
Hi! I was a ballet dancer when I was your age too. My advice is that as long as you feel healthy, happy, and strong, you're in excellent shape. If you're in high school, dancing at least four times a week, and call your sweet tooth "small," there isn't much else you need to do. I'm not sure where I heard this, but that little fat area below your belly button is especially stubborn for a reason- you need it! Ask ANY other girl, I'll bet she's got it too. If you lose too much body fat, you might stop menstruating, a sign that your health isn't all it should be.
Talk to you ballet teacher about your concerns- I'm sure she'll tell you your dancing is looking great. As long as you've got a genuine, gorgeous smile on your face, your dancing will be beautiful- who cares about a teeny tiny fat on your tummy?
Have fun! Love, T.
DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF! That is the first rule. That slows yor metabolism down, which means you are going to gain weight. I hear Pilates works a charm! Eat snacks about every 2-3 hours, not heavy portions. Also try not to eat until you are stuffed, it takes 20 minutes for your stomach to reach your brain. Eat until you feel content.
