Hey! At least you are aware of what you're doing and are trying to stop. (Good for you!)
If you want to strengthen your arches, just keep doing releves and tendus- both make you work through that part of your foot. Also, stretch them out and stuff often. Remember too, that cold feet won't be nearly as limber, so if you can keep your feet warm before class, it'll be lots more productive!
Good luck with your bad habit- you can do it.

if you only go up to help w/ your arch, try in your socks to put your toes under your foot and bed your knees, But do this one foot at a time. If it's just a bad habit with out any purpose, just stop everytime you think about it, don't go up. Self-willing ness
Going up on "pointe" in your street shoes is very dangerous. No it will not help your arches, it will only aid you in breaking your ankle or tearing ligaments. My suggestion is that you consistently work on your ankle and arches by doing many releves and eleves every day. Once your feet hurt you will know you are doing it right. Good luck.
