If I take ballet, will they let me lift the girls?

I'm 24, male, and relatively small (5'6" 145 pounds) but with an athletic build. If I take ballet, will they let me dance with the girls and do lifts?

lol and why would you want to do the lifts? ;]

They will let you dance with the girls but as a beginner you probably won't do any lifts for awhile. But as you go up the levels and get better you probably will end up doing it.

I'm not really sure, I think though that size sort of has nothing to do with it. If you can prove that you can lift them, then yes, they will probably let you. There are alot of different sized people in ballet, but they are strong too. So, work out.

probably not if you don't have any previous experience because it takes skill to be able to lift a girl without dropping her. If you work hard to improve though you probably will be able to get to lifting.
In ballet,lifts are mandatory requirments and classes are taught expressly in that discipline.Don't worry about your size becuase you'll be paired with someone of complimentary size. And I bet I know why you're so anxious to learn!hehe!
