Can I lie about my age to get into ballet?

I am 23 years old and I am getting very very good at ballet. I want to know ... can I lie about my age to get into a ballet company? Can I lie about my age on my exams at the ballet studio I am at? I know how cutthroat the ballet world is and don't want my age to come before my talent.

these days, age matters less than technique. most companies would allow you to audtion....if your honest. lying is a great way to get in and then get thrown out when they figure it out. how long could you keep that up? and don't like to your studio either...if you get caught, the ballet world is a small one, and you will find out that its more cuthroat than you think...get black listed at one studio/company, and its over. no one will train you, employ you, allow you to sit in the audience. just be honest, and most companies dont ask your age at the audtion. they watch you perform, set up an interview, and then....you go from there. good luck!

it depends if your lying to make you be younger, thats ok but if your lying to make you look older, thats not a good idea. because you were already there at that age all you have to do is go back.
lying gets you nowhere! if you get found out for lying, you'll get thrown out anyway, so i really wouldn't bother. x
The choice is up to you BUT think about both sides of your own question:

Pro: If you lie you can get in and start achieveing your dream slightly eariler then the rest so you MIGHT have a little extra boost.

Con: With the total and utter lack of privacy on the internet ther is a 99.9% chance that your real information will come to light and they might punish you for your deception by kicking you out.

Which is more important to you?

Is a small advantage more important to you then getting found out and being kicked out for dishonesty??

Will another school take you after you are censured for lying by the company you were at?

I, personally, don't think it is worth the risk.

But you will do what you want to do... I just hope you have both the positive and negative outcomes in your head when you do it.
id say if it'd help you go for it, whatever it takes. but could you pull off the age you'd be saying? and what would happen if they found out? cos they chances are if you lie, sooner or later you'll be found out.
i dont think you should because it could come back and they could find out that you are lying. if you are good enough it wont matter what your age is.
What if someone finds out you're lying? Wouldn't that look worse than being truthful about your age?
My daughter has been to a couple professional auditions (she's a senior BFA dance major) and age is not a factor that is needed on her resume or is asked about. All that the artistic directors care about is a) talent and skill and b) whether you've had any other professional experience. There is no reason for you to reveal your age.
if your really good

then the company wont mind if your too young or old

they just want the best

and u might get severe punishment for lying on an exam and to the company
when they do a backgroung check they'll fing out and it will diminish your chances to work in any company
